Blog Entry 14 - The Meatrix

The Meatrix was designed to inform the public and consumers of the the hidden dangers of mass production of meat and meat products. They also showed how easy it is to spread or pass on diseases. In the Meatrix they encourage the public to buy from small farmers and to be smart of what they are eating. The Meatrix is connected to the Matrix. In both movies Neo was given the choice of the red pill blue pill, he chose the red pill.

Blog Entry 13

I believe that I do not live in the Matrix even though my world is not perfect, I am not ruled or charged  by any machinery and my feelings are real. When I was watching the Matrix, I felt some anxiety about what will happen, I laughed at some part even though I know it was a movie. The movie was about the Matrix, Neo was the choosen one, technology played a great part in the movie.
My world is not perfect, I am a human being and I am entitled to make mistakes. I am a mother and maybe I forget to do an errand that was important. In my math class when doing a problem, there is a possibility I may get it wrong. When driving on the road it is a possible I may make a wrong turn.
I am not ruled or recharged by any machinery. In the Matrix when Neo went to sleep, he was hooked up with a lot of cable to be recharged. I may go to sleep in my bed, but at the same time I am not being recharged by any machinery, even though I may feel more energetic. Neo had special powers which gave him the advantage to run from one end, up and around like a spider, which was part of the movie when he was fighting with Morpheus. I have never seen anyone fighting like Neo in real life, only in movies.
My feelings are real, should I die my other half would not kiss me and bring me back to life. At the end of the movie Neo was killed, but he was brought back to life by a kiss form Trinity. From the love, between me and my other half we have been blissed with two beautiful daughters, can this happen for Neo?
The Matrix was an interesting movie which has a lot to do with technology and machinery. Neo was a hero in the movie, who did not just think of himself, he fought for others. There is no way that I live in the Matrix!

Blog Entry 12 - Reflection and Evaluation

Reflection and Evaluation

In reflecting on  my blogs, I  know that my thesis statement needs improvement, maybe a little  more evidence in my paragraphs. I plan on working a little harder, writing more longer essays with specific details, especially if I want to do better on my CAT-W test, which was the only thing we did using paper and ink. I have to be able to better myself at proof-reading before submitting my work. I have a major problem in finding 400 word per essay,  I prefer reading a story than writing a story, my ideas and thoughts does not flow enough to make long flowing sentences. Writing an essay takes a lot of time and concentration, it takes practice, reading, thinking and revising.  I admire someone who can just sit and write a 500 word essay without breaking a sweat. A good writer would capture the reader's attention, and make the reader want to read on, and lets the reader know what to expect in the essay. I also learned to use the Thesaurus and the writers handbook. I enjoyed playing Freerice Grammer game, and also the other games on the internet, the memory or brain game, the math game, the speed game. I liked the movies that was seen throughout this class, I think they were all interesting but connected in some way or the other. Technology played a major part in this class,  most of the class work was done on the computer,  I enjoyed the challenge and look foward to more. It was nice to read my classmates comments about my blog, they were all acknowledge. Overall, I think I am comforatable where I am in class, I can perform the task efficiently.

Blog Entry 11 - CAT Practice

I agree that reality television posses a danger in today's society. Reality television reinforces several unsound messages that are molding the minds of its young fans. According to the author Timothy Sexton of Buzzle.com "The Dangers of Reality TV.", reality television promotes the old belief that compition is the key to success in a capitalist economy, it also sends the message that the to success is image rather than the ability, and that education is completely unnecessary to fulfill the American dream.
Reality television exposes our kids to sex and voilence, especially the series shows. It sends the message that money can be awarded for being crazy, or doing one of a kind show. My kids recently called my attention to one of their shows where Will Smith's daughter dancing a song about whipping her head back and forth, personally I think the song and it's movement is crazy, but I she makes a lot of money frome doing things like that. Some reality television shows uses slang language which sends the wrong message and influence to our kids. It also show that life in general is a compition, in order for success which is achieve by image rather than ability. Reality television shows that in every show there is a winner and a loser, which nobody wants to be a loser.
Reality television is sending a message to everyone that education is completely unnessary to fulfill the American dream, all you need is fame and lots of money, but in reality that fame can be replaced by someone trying to do better in another series. Education cannot be taken away from you; you can achieve great success in education with a focus mind.
Reality television is a greater challenge to get on a show, you may do adution of a hundred people before you pick five people for a show. These series shows would not demonstrate how difficult it is to get on a show, its all about the reality television, they show you what they want you to see, and its up to the person to see the dangers of reality television. Reality television is all about a compition.

Claim:- Why take any pill, red or blue?
Reason:- I don't like taking drugs, and why would I take pills from people I don't know?
Evidence:- Those people hang out in a tacky old building.

Blog Entry 9: Telecommute Report-out.

Telecommuting was very interesting, you first log onto the matrix, enter your name and then start having conversations with professors and other students. Then you are required to read the questions and other people's views on their questions and respond to it accordingly.
I had such difficult time with the computer I was using in the library, when I tried to switch back and forth to different pages, it froze on me, at one point I decided to log out and go to a different computer on campus in the math lab, I then log onto the site again, so on the roll I should be marked twice in and twice out. Overall I enjoyed doing the telecommuting on the matrix.

Blog Entry 8 The Truman Show

The perfect world that Christoff created for Truman was not the happily ever after, Truman's life was planned out before him, he knew what was expected of him, how he should react to situations, even his lifestyle. Since birth Truman's whole life was broadcasted as a show on television, every day he awake to the same pattern of life, Seaheaven was the place he lived in, they knew what he would say t to his neighbors, which news stand he would buy his papers and magazine from, claiming the magazing was for his wife, but secretly he was looking for the love of his life, the girlfriend who had a sickness. Truman wanted for a very long time to go to the island, so he could see the girlfriend that was not good enough for television.
I do not agree with Christoff definition of "perfect world", the one which he created for Truman. In the real world, we are not viewed on camera 24/7, we have a normal life, we are allowed to go on vacation unlike Truman, who could not go on vacations, he could not ge a flight for more than a month, when he tries to drive to go on a vacation, he was met with one devastation  after another.
