Blog 1 "Hype"

Hpye

In Excerpted from Kalle Lasn. "Hype," in Signs of Life in the USA: Reading on Popular Culture,as the author stated commercial pollution is all around us, even in unusual places. I agree, advertisements are most toxic of mental pollutants, in today's world everywhere you go there is advertisement. The author claims that there is an estimated 12 billion display ads, 3 million radio commercials, and more than 200,000 television commercial are dumped into America's collective unconscious. Advertisement are not confined to usual places, they are on buses, billboards stadiums, every your eyes can rest. The kids cannot look at their shows without looking at advertisement, and from the shows comes a list of stuff they want to try or buy because they see it on television. Sometimes they try to convince you that you have to buy a particular item because the television says it is so good. I sometimes buy juice or snacks for my kids and i have to help them to eat or drink it because they did not like it, instead of throwing it out.
Sometimes my kids get caught up in series television shows and they hurry up when doing home-work. Sometimes the shows have slang language and kids are being influenced, which they may think it is cool, but it's not. In their classroom, kids watch pepsi and snickers commercial.
When you listen to the radio you hear so much advertisement, sometimes i get so tired of hearing the same advertisement. Sometimes some of the commercial stays in your head, like the advertisement for the skin cream - head, shoulder, knees and toes, knees and toes, eyes and ears and head , shoulder knees and toes. I enjoy those radio channel which have commercial free music.
There is advertisement for everything you use, you eat, you drink, you wear, you drive even where you live, the area, the town, the city even the country.
America is constantly advertising, commercial are pouring in from everywhere.
